Match the battery to the inverter

Match the actual voltage window and continuous current limits, then confirm any required BMS protocol and cable configuration. Nominal voltage alone does not establish a complete match.

  1. Record the inverter model, phase, serial number and firmware.
  2. Record the battery chemistry, voltage window, Ah/kWh and bank arrangement.
  3. Use the battery/BMS continuous charge and discharge limits to set inverter currents. The lowest applicable equipment limit governs the configuration.
  4. For BMS communication, match the named protocol, inverter/battery firmware and cable pinout. A CAN or RS485 connector alone does not identify the protocol.
  5. Retain the selected manuals, warranty record and commissioning readings with the installation.

Download the fillable matching and commissioning record or ask Nexus Solar Energy for exact-model selection support.

15kW three-phase BMS communication reference

The Devsol 15kW HN15KT-AH2GT manual specifies CAN or RS485 battery communication and the inverter-side BMS port pinout below. Use this reference for the matching unit and its supplied manual.

Inverter-side communication reference — 15kW three-phase
Inverter identity Devsol 15kW three-phase; HN15KT-AH2GT technical reference in the linked manual. Match the delivered unit nameplate.
BMS communication choices CAN or RS485, using the communication method configured on the connected battery.
Manufacturer/profile shown in the manual PYLON. This is the named inverter menu/profile; it does not identify the make of the installed BMS.
BMS RJ45 pin 1 / pin 2 RS485B / RS485A
BMS RJ45 pin 3 / pin 6 GND / GND
BMS RJ45 pin 4 / pin 5 CANH / CANL
BMS RJ45 pin 7 / pin 8 NC / NC
Bank configuration Set the actual battery/BMS count in BMS Num and retain the commissioning record.

Pin numbering follows the connector orientation in manual section 6.7.1, printed page 32 (PDF page 36). Connect the communication cable to the BMS port, not the adjacent METER/CT port. Route it through the specified waterproof gland and restore the seal.

This table describes the inverter end. Match the battery-end pinout and the approved cable to the actual battery/BMS revision; an RJ45 plug alone does not establish a straight-through cable match. Keep the inverter firmware, battery/BMS firmware, selected profile and cable part number together in the installation record.

The battery settings reference, printed page 45 (PDF page 49) shows PYLON, CAN/RS485 selection, SOC limits, maximum charge/discharge current and BMS Num. Set currents within the inverter, battery bank, BMS and cable limits. The 120A shown on that example screen is an illustration, not the 15kW model’s maximum rating.

How to compare charging current meaningfully

Compare current at the same battery voltage and within the permitted bank limits. For example, 100A at 24V nominal is approximately 2.4kW of DC charging power; 100A at 48V nominal is approximately 4.8kW. These are nominal V × A examples. Actual charging voltage, available PV/AC power, conversion losses, battery acceptance and the final charging stage affect the result. A larger Ah bank takes proportionally more energy to reach the same state of charge.

First-hand setup and load demonstrations

Use the timestamps to see the relevant setup and discussion. Match the demonstrated model, PV input, battery support and loads to the proposed installation.

Warranty, service and certification resources

For a certified purchase requirement, match the exact designation and standard in the original certificate or inclusion document to the selected product. Keep the invoice, delivered unit identification and commissioning record together.
