TOPCon vs HDT vs Mono PERC
| Mono PERC | N-type TOPCon | HDT (Advanced HJT Dual-Side Architecture) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Typical temperature coefficient | −0.34 to −0.39 %/°C | −0.28 to −0.32 %/°C | −0.24 %/°C (Devsol 740 W) |
| Output lost on a 65°C cell (40°C above test) | about 14–16% | about 11–13% | about 9.6% |
| Nexus/Devsol price per watt | ₹19.43 (575 W) | ₹18.90 (630 W) | ₹29.40 (740 W) |
| Best for | Budget rooftops | Best value for most homes | Hot plains, maximum output per panel |
TOPCon is the best value for most Indian homes. HDT costs more per watt but keeps more of its output in summer heat, which pays back in regions where panels run hot for long hours, such as UP, Rajasthan, Gujarat, MP, Haryana, Bihar and Delhi-NCR. In milder climates such as Bengaluru, Pune, the coasts and the hills, TOPCon is the better buy.
Subsidy note
Devsol and Nexus panels: ALMM application in process. They are not currently ALMM-listed, so they are not eligible for the PM Surya Ghar subsidy. If you need the subsidy, choose a model on ALMM List-I.
