The main lithium battery manufacturers and energy-storage brands serving India include Amara Raja, Eastman, Exide, Livguard, Loom Solar, Luminous, Nexus Solar Energy, Okaya, Servotech and UTL. Their published ranges differ in chemistry, usable energy, cycle life, enclosure protection, battery-management communication and warranty.
This list is published by Nexus Solar Energy, which manufactures lithium batteries and appears in it.
This guide is for dealers, EPC contractors, OEM buyers and system integrators comparing companies rather than individual retail offers. It is not a ranking of product quality. The disclosed publisher appears first; all other companies are alphabetical. Each entry uses a current company source and one or more numeric facts that buyers can verify before selecting a battery.
Lithium Battery Manufacturers and Energy-Storage Brands in India
1. Nexus Solar Energy
Nexus Solar Energy manufactures lithium battery packs and sells LiFePO4 and lithium titanate oxide products for solar backup and mobility applications. Its live category lists 12.8 V, 25.6 V, 48 V and 51.2 V formats, with published LiFePO4 cycle figures of 3,500, 5,000 and 6,500 on specific products. Nexus also lists a 23 Ah LTO cell and a 52.9 V LTO scooter pack; the live LTO pages should be used for the selected product’s actual specification rather than a generic chemistry claim. Browse the Nexus lithium battery category and LTO cell category.
2. Amara Raja Energy & Mobility
Amara Raja Energy & Mobility develops automotive, industrial and new-energy battery systems through its lithium-ion initiatives. Its official technology page describes a cell and battery-pack gigafactory at Divitipally, Telangana, with a long-term target capacity up to 16 GWh. The company also lists in-house work on NMC and LFP cell chemistry, pack design, BMS electronics, qualification and endurance testing. A target capacity describes the planned scale of the programme, not the immediate supply available for a particular order. OEM buyers should confirm the current production stage and application-specific qualification. See the official Amara Raja technology page.
3. Eastman
Eastman supplies batteries, inverters and energy-storage systems for residential, commercial and off-grid applications. Its official India lithium catalogue documents a 51.2 V, 280 Ah LiFePO4 model with 14.3 kWh nominal energy. The same table states 6,000 cycles at 80% depth of discharge, a 5-year warranty, up to 15 units in parallel and a design life above 10 years at 25°C. Those figures depend on the stated current, temperature and depth-of-discharge conditions. Designers should use the full model table when calculating usable energy and thermal limits. Read the official Eastman lithium catalogue.
4. Exide Industries
Exide Industries operates battery manufacturing businesses and invests in lithium-ion cells, modules and packs through its energy subsidiaries. An official company disclosure identifies a 1.5 GWh lithium-ion pack and module facility in Gujarat and a 12 GWh cell manufacturing project in Bengaluru planned in two phases. The same disclosure says the cell project covers packs and modules as well as cells. Because project capacity and commercial availability are different facts, procurement teams should confirm current production status, qualification and delivery schedule for the required application. Review Exide’s official lithium manufacturing disclosure.
5. Livguard
Livguard develops batteries, inverters and integrated energy-storage products for home backup and solar use. Its official Lithium XDT page lists a 100 Ah lithium solution with IP55 protection and a 3-year warranty. The product page also gives a backup example of more than 3 hours at a 400 W load and identifies smart-BMS monitoring. Backup examples are not universal: actual runtime changes with load, temperature, battery condition and inverter losses. Buyers should compare usable energy and maximum continuous output, not only ampere-hours. See the official Livguard Lithium XDT specification.
6. Loom Solar
Loom Solar sells solar modules, inverters and CAML lithium storage products for residential and commercial installations. Its official 12.8 V, 100 Ah CAML page states 1.28 kWh nominal energy, more than 6,000 cycles at 80% depth of discharge, IP65 protection and a 5-year warranty. The page also publishes a 100 A maximum charge current and CAN/RS485 communication. These values apply to that listed model and should not be extended automatically to every CAML unit. Match the battery’s voltage, current and communication profile to the inverter. Consult the official Loom Solar CAML data.
7. Luminous
Luminous manufactures and markets power-backup, solar and lithium energy-storage products. Its official lithium category lists 12.8 V, 25.6 V and 51.2 V 100 Ah home batteries with 60-month warranties. The same catalogue includes BESS products at 25.6 kWh, 35.8 kWh, 80.38 kWh and 112.41 kWh; the two larger listings show 120-month warranties. Warranty and capacity therefore vary considerably across the range. Dealers should verify whether a quotation is for a standalone battery, an integrated BESS or a mobility product and confirm the supported inverter protocol. Review the official Luminous lithium range.
8. Okaya
Okaya supplies lead-acid and lithium batteries, home energy-storage products and power electronics. Its official lithium catalogue identifies lithium iron phosphate chemistry across listed models and publishes a 5-year warranty. The solar-oriented models in the comparison table use IP65 protection, while other listed units use IP21, showing why enclosure rating must be checked by SKU. The catalogue also names IEC and UN transport or safety standards for specified products. Buyers should obtain the matching test report and warranty card for the model on the invoice. Read the official Okaya lithium catalogue.
9. Servotech
Servotech Renewable Power System manufactures solar, EV-charging and energy-storage products. Its official Servlith catalogue lists LiFePO4 systems from 2.56 kWh to 15.36 kWh across several voltage and enclosure formats. The technical table states more than 5,000 cycles at 100% depth of discharge under the specified 25°C and 0.2C conditions, along with CAN, RS485 and RS232 communication. Cycle life changes with temperature, current, depth of discharge and control settings, so the test conditions must remain attached to the figure. See the official Servlith catalogue.
10. UTL
UTL Solar manufactures and sells inverters, solar PCUs and lithium storage for home, mobility and industrial uses. Its official store page for a 25.6 V, 100 Ah LiFePO4 battery publishes 3,500 cycles, a 5-year warranty, 38 kg weight and a 10-year battery-life statement. That page also says delivery is from the company’s Noida manufacturing plant. The cycle figure and life statement should be interpreted under the product’s operating and warranty conditions, not as a promise for every duty cycle. Check the official UTL 25.6 V product page.
How to Choose a Lithium Battery Manufacturer
Define the application first. A home-backup battery, EV pack, telecom rack and commercial BESS have different current, enclosure, communication, fire-safety and certification requirements. Start with continuous and peak load, backup duration, system voltage, installation environment and expansion plan.
Compare usable energy, not only Ah. Ampere-hours cannot be compared across different voltages without conversion. Use nominal watt-hours or kilowatt-hours, permitted depth of discharge and inverter losses to estimate runtime. Check whether the published energy is nominal or usable.
Keep cycle conditions attached. A cycle-life number is meaningful only with its depth of discharge, temperature, charge and discharge rate, and end-of-life definition. Two batteries that both publish 6,000 cycles may have been rated under different test conditions.
Verify BMS communication. Ask for the CAN or RS485 protocol and the exact inverter compatibility list. A voltage-only setup can work in some systems, but direct communication gives the inverter access to limits, state of charge, alarms and temperature data.
Check safety and transport documents. Depending on the application, buyers may need BIS coverage, IEC 62619, UN 38.3, MSDS and transport packaging documents. Verify model numbers, issuing body, test scope and validity rather than relying on a general logo in a brochure.
Read warranty remedies. Compare years, throughput or cycle limits, retained-capacity threshold, registration, exclusions, labour, transport and replacement process. Confirm who pays freight and how a failed module is isolated so the rest of the system can continue operating.
Audit manufacturing and service. OEM and dealer buyers should inspect incoming-cell controls, pack assembly, welding, insulation, BMS programming, end-of-line testing, traceability and repair capability. Ask for serial-level test data and spare-module availability.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is the best lithium battery manufacturer in India?
No single manufacturer is best for every use. Select the company whose exact model meets the required chemistry, usable energy, current, enclosure, communication, certification, warranty and local service needs.
Which companies manufacture lithium batteries in India?
Companies with published Indian cell, module or pack programmes include Exide, Amara Raja, Nexus Solar Energy, Servotech and UTL, while several other brands assemble or market application-specific storage products. Verify the manufacturing stage and location for the exact model.
What is the difference between LFP and LTO batteries?
Both are lithium chemistries, but they use different electrode materials and operate at different cell voltages. LTO is commonly selected for high-rate and high-cycle applications; LFP is widely used for solar storage. Use the live product data, not a generic chemistry number.
How many cycles should a solar lithium battery provide?
Published examples in this guide range from 3,500 to more than 6,000 cycles for specific models. Compare depth of discharge, temperature, charge rate and warranty conditions before treating two cycle claims as equivalent.
Is a 5 kWh battery enough for a home?
It can support selected household loads, but adequacy depends on usable energy and wattage. Add the power of the backup circuits, multiply by required hours and include inverter losses and the battery’s permitted depth of discharge.
Which certifications should an EPC request?
Request the documents applicable to the model and use, such as BIS coverage, IEC 62619, UN 38.3 and MSDS. Check that certificate model numbers match the nameplate and quotation.
Can different lithium battery brands be connected in parallel?
Do not parallel different brands or models unless both manufacturers explicitly approve the configuration. Voltage, internal resistance, BMS limits and communication can differ and create unsafe current sharing.
What should an OEM buyer audit?
Audit cell sourcing, welding, insulation, BMS firmware, thermal design, end-of-line tests, traceability, certifications, warranty reserves and repair capacity. Require written change control for cells and BMS components.
